OnStar Party at Thunderbird Lanes

We had a great time Friday night with all of our friends at OnStar. Thanks again for having us!

Bluebird Cafe with Gerry Grothues, Tirk Wilder and Beth Kille

Thanks to Gerry, Tirk, Beth and everyone in the crowd for a great night at the Bluebird. Check out YouTube for some videos. Go to YouTube.com and type in JSBLUEBIRD. There are three videos listed on top of the page.

Deckers Landing

Thanks to Donna and Nicole at Deckers Landing for having us out-- what a cool venue, right on the water. People pull up in their boats, get out and drink and dance, then take off or sleep on their boats after closing. Some people really know how to live!

Erin Pub

Thanks everyone for coming out to the Erin Pub Friday night. It was a blast! Also thanks to my great friend John Ellis for bring one of his custom amps JFE for us to use. They rock, and they are popping up all over. We are using one or more of John's amps on our upcoming CD. Check them out at: www.jfeamps.com. Trust us-- you will see these amps everywhere in the future.

National Record Store Day

It was a very cool gig at Rock-a-Billy's for the National Record Store Day celebration. Independent record stores are little jewels sprinkled though the greater wasteland of music retailing. What's helping them survive, we believe, is the availability of vinyl. We stuck around after we played and bought a pile of records-- stuff that is not on CD. We found a promotional copy of 'Stand In The Fire' by Warren Zevon, which is one of the best live albums ever made. We also found an old live Faces album. This stuff is hard to come by and the only chance you have of finding music like this (other than at a garage sale) is at an indie store. We wish Rock-a-Billy's and all the other great indie record stores in Detroit and throughout the country great success, now and in the future.

Erin Pub

Thanks to everyone coming out to the Erin Pub on Friday night. We know a lot of you drove a long way to see us (especially Scott) and you know how we appreciate it. It was a fun night and hope to see everyone again soon.

Mitch Albom Show

We wanted to thank Mitch and his crew (Ken, Ray, Matt) for having us on the show.  Mitch is a really busy guy  with an incredible work ethic. He just comes in and bang-- does the show. No rehearsal, with just a few notes scattered at his console. Live radio, at least for us,  is like walking on a tightrope with no safety net. It's funny though, when you're in the studio it's a very relaxed and intimate environment. I believe it's Mitch and Ken's professionalism that makes it that way.

Dr. Phil was on the show also. The studio room is small and it was really crowded with Dr. Phil and his crew (assistants and two camera men). Some of the taped segments may wind up on his show with us in the background. After we did our first song, Dr. Phil said on the air  'hey, those guys are good', which we appreciated.

It was a fun two hours, and we're very thankful to Mitch and his producers. It is a very cool thing that Mitch does-- having area bands on his show. We can't thank him enough.
